Chocolate

This might sound ridiculous but, when I visited Colin in the hospice today, he was very anxious, hot(even though it was chilly in there as he has the air con on full pelt) legs shaking and jumping all over, arms stiff as boards and wanting to come home, reassured him telling him he only had 2 more sleeps and 1 full day left and he would be coming home.

Anyway wheeled his bed onto the balcony so he could have a cigarette ( me holding it as he can’t) and then back in for his lunch, fed him his lunch, wheeled him back out onto the balcony for another cigarette, then back in. Was chatting to him about all I had been doing still seemed anxious and pissed off. He told me his pain was still uncontrollable nothing they were doing was helping, even though he has pain patches and morphein on top.

I asked the nurses if they had any ibuprofen gel, which they had and put it on his shoulder and hands where he gets most pain, then remembered I’d out chocolate in the fridge when he first went in.

So I was the one wanting chocolate, opened the big box of mint matchmakers and feeding Colin 2 at a time and of course myself, we proceeded to eat the whole box in about 10 mins, about 5 minutes later Colin said “ that chocolate has completely relaxed me I feel so much better now”. So now I know what to do just feed him loads of chocolates and rub a bit of ibuprofen in.

Just thought I would let you know what I have been up to on the very hot sunny Saturday afternoon.

So glad the chocolate helped! My sweetheart had a sweet tooth, and he was always willing to be cheered by a treat of any kind. He would tuck into whatever he was given and get an expression we called his blissface. I think he knew it made me happy to see him happy, so he would be especially enthusiastic for me.

You are happy seeing her then you should celebrate this happiness. If the Celebration comes, then the chocolates should come.
