Bowel problems

Hi everyone. I would like to ask everyone a question. My husband has had PSP for about eight years. Things of course are gradually getting worse. At the moment he keeps wanting to go to the toilet because he says his stomach feels so full and yet in the last eight hours he has moved his bowels three times and it was very runny. Certainly not constipated. I said I would ring the doctor but he doesn’t want to as he thinks he will put him in hospital. Any ideas on what I should do. This is a great site and I have learned a lot from just reading it

Thanks Kathleen

My husband is 8 plus years as well,I give him restoralax every morning to keep him somewhat loose because he seems to go the other way very fast and I would rather him to be loose/runny then constipated.Im afraid its a never ending challenge with PSP.

The doctor has been and recommended Movicol and Muralax suppository. If that does not work then he will have to go to hospital and get cleaned out

That is the same thing as Restoralax in canada I belive and Dr told us he could have up to 3 time a day for two weeks, it did take 3 days for things to kick in.now once a day unless he seems to be plugging up,then I give it him 2 time daily. Trail and error. The restoralax here is in powder form and added to any fluids
