Here's a picture of the old farmhouse from a few years ago. We don't have this much snow yet, but this is what I hope for. My sweetheart built a neat and cozy little house for his retirement on this property - something he could be comfortable in in the winter, and that is where I go on the weekends. The old house waits for spring.
(For those who are wondering why I am posting this, this is an overdue response to a request. I only just organized myself to do it.)
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays one and all. I hope 2018 brings us the breakthrough in treatment we all pray for and some sanity to a world so in need of it. Love, Ec

Wow! And I get excited over a few cm/inches. What a wonderful place to go for weekends. You must have many happy memories. One thing I was very grateful for; we never had anything but a fluttering of snow during the 4 winters when C had carers. Anything more and our hilly road becomes too icy and dangerous to drive on. Folk leave their cars on their drives or on the flat at the top of the road. The carers wouldn’t have been able to come as even walking on the slope is dangerous. We usually get the gritting lorry once it starts melting.
Ahhh! Be careful. I haven’t been since we took the children years ago and our eldest, then 11, ended up being stretchered off the ice, unconscious by skating first aiders followed by all of us, including a 5 and 7 year old spending the rest of a very long day in hospital. He was concussed but OK but never wanted to go again. If they had the penguins they have now as aids, it may not have happened.
EC your house is beautiful and the views breathtaking. Your love might not be able to be there now but you can enjoy it. He is probably there in spirit with you as I think it looks so peaceful and exactly where we would all like to be
Hope you are coping alright? Will you spend Christmas there?
I'm coping pretty well. I have my job. I'm flying off to Chicago this weekend to spend the Christmas holiday with one of my sisters and my mother. Haven't had Christmas with my family for years and years.
It's lovely, proper snow. Snow in the UK is generally very wet and the UK deals badly with snow, causes chaos, as it tends to take people by surprise when it happens.
Grateful to be able to spend time there, and trying to honor my guy by helping to take care of it, but it belongs to his kids, near and far. It's complicated, and I don't know how long I will keep going.
