A Genuine Kindness!

Hi, yesterday, spent had a pamper day. Courtesy of a very kind ex carer!

Crossroads, run pamper days, we went to this lovely old house, with beautiful gardens, not that I could see them, through the torrential rain! Had a lovely reflexology session, lunch and a taster of Tai-Chi! We were a group of fellow carers, all different problems. None of us felt awkward, too much alike, with the bags under the eyes! Had a lovely day, laughing and relaxing. Almost felt human again! AND I slept last night!!!

I don't know who the very kind lady was, who sponsored this event. All I know is she was an ex carer and felt she wanted to give something back! I don't know how to thank her, (we did all write something in a book for her to see. ) Then, I don't suppose she wants our thanks, being an ex carer, she will KNOW how much is was appreciated.

All I can say is THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU, and hope it somehow finds her somewhere across the ether!!!

Lots of love

Congratulations, Heady. You deserve a moment a way and a good nights sleep. What do you think a bout reflexology and tai-chi? Were they new experiences?

Both extremely relaxing. Have had Reflexology before, but only a small taster. This was a full on 50minutes. Didn't do any of the normal diagnoses, that some do, just accepted that I needed to be relaxed! Certainly achieved that!

Tai-Chi, no I never done that. Thought it was wonderful! Had a good instructor, that made us smile and laugh, so that helped. Found it very relaxing. Would need to know a lot more, before I could recommend it for fitness, but it's certainly something that S could do. So trying to find some where that we could both go. Unfortunately at the moment, I can only find classes that clash with other things!!! I will keep searching. Might be something we move on to, when his other class gets too much for him.

Lots of love

Ooh I'm almost jealous! Reflexology...and you know you can do it to yourself as well....Not quite as 100% as someone else applying it but it works.....You certainly can apply it to husband.....And Tai Chi....

I do hope you find one with a good schedule for the both of you!

Tai Chi in a Chair...That's what B did in the class. Everyone else was standing up but B obviously could not...so I just had him sit...it was good, but too expensive !!! oh well.

Well I am so happy you had a moment to yourself to relax and laugh! strive for a little bit of that daily!

Thank goodness for people who want to pay it forward!

How wonderful and what a great idea for someone to do.

It will keep you going for while and its so good to do something that recaptures feeling normal !!

lots of love, Jean x

Sounds wonderful. I once took part in such a day about 20 years ago organized by staff in the de partment I managed in a college. we had several types of massage and I slept through every single one and went straight to bed when I got home early evening to sleep through the night. I should get massage done here but haven't had the energy to organize it yet. It's on the list of things to get done once my daughter moves in. Not long now, she lands 1st September and we are both counting the days.
