Hi all, my dad is finally on his way to hospice this morning. Relieved but so sad. It took a while to persuade my mom that this was the right thing. She'd become terrified of all the drugs, when to use them, etc, and dad needs a confident and calm team around him. Best for them both. Off to see him shortly. I know they're fantastic there and he'll be so well looked after but still can't help feeling like the world has ended

Yes, a confident and calm team is right. I hope your mother can focus now on the important things that only she can do. You, too. Take care of yourself in this hard time. Peace, Ec
Bless you Sasmock
The hospice will give you all the help, advice and support you all need, just keep going my lovely, no other choice x
Hi sasmock
I recently took a similar step and yes, it did feel like the world had ended. After a little while I saw just how much better the Nursing Home could care for my wife and how much less stressed and exhausted I was.
I do hope it works out for the best for you all.
Warmly
Kevin
It is so difficult to make that good decision, but as your family moves along things will fall in place Mom will AND dad will settle into their new way of life probably much sooner than later. In the mean time rely on what you know; that they are a good place for your dad....
Love ya ,Andrea
