Hello, Jean. Really sorry you have to deal with this diagnosis, but it sounds as if you have good support. We all would be better off with a nurse in the family! Depression can be an awful beast to fight, especially when you have things to be sad about, so it's not just a matter of trying to balance the drugs, hard as that is, too. I am trying to get back into meditation for it. Good for you for not giving up. Please keep in touch.

Peace, Easterncedar/Sarah

You have a great husband but you already know that? You are lucky to have your daughter involved too.

You wouldn't be normal if you didn't feel depressed. It is a horrible condition. I live in the UK so not aware of doctors in your area. Someone recently had a good experience at The Mayo Clinic but not sure how far that is from you? It is not a cure sadly but at least there were doctors who cared. I am sure there are others, maybe even near you but I don't know of them. Perhaps someone else will?

You sound like a fighter. Good luck to you.

I think CBD is similar to PSP.

In our case:

Gymnastic tables 6 days a week: passive in bed (Move all major muscles) and active (helped by 1 or 2 people): Go up and down 50 steps (Odd days), walk 200-300 m (even days), speech therapy exercises and exercises ocular muscles. After that he needs to rest at least 30 ' .

Without any scientific basis, only observation of four nearby neurological diseases cases, I have the impression that a specific program of intense gymnastics can slow down the disease in an important way and is more effective the earlier the disease is detected.

We have a part-time hired person to perform gymnastics, personal hygiene and dressing.

Perhaps is usefull to you

Hugs and love

Hello Jean. I was interested to see that you had tried Botox for your arm. My husband has an appt next month with a consultant to see if he is a suitable candidate for Botox to help him with the rigidity in both arms. Can you tell me what benefits you had and were there any side effects?

Well done for your positive outlook. Keep it up!!

My wife has been receiving Botox in her right arm for cramping and jerkiness for about 6 months. She has it done at the University of Minnesota. It seems to be helping. It’s very subtle but there is less pain from cramping based on her comments. It involves a lot of needles that appear to provide some discomfort, but apparently worth it because she initiates the appointments.

I hope if you choose Botox it provides the relief your looking for. I’ll be thinking about you.

Not what you're looking for?
