About the bolts Barry is having.

Hope this helps if you are experiencing the same.

It's called MYOCLONUS it is a symptom found in many Neurological diseases.

It all makes sense now.

SHIT !!!! Another thing to deal with.

My hubby suffers from Dystonia which seems to be similar to what your Barry is suffering. Yes it's another pain in the backside. JX

My husband experienced this a couple of years into the disease and only at night. Has not had them in a long while (so long I can't remember the last one!) So...maybe a little hope it is just a phase to pass through.

Yes, Charles has this. Twitches all night. I asked him if it hurt and he said a little. He said it's the "Palsy" in PSP. Still sad to witness.

My husband has to sleep on his left arm to keep it under control, otherwise it thrashes about and he's afraid he'll hit me.

Have you ever tried gabapentin? Seems to help these jerks sometimes, as well as some nystamus and nerve pain and thus sleeping. Obviously not medical advice but just an idea to discuss with your doctor. Best wishes.
