My dad died this morning.

So fortunate he went in his sleep.. things were going badly, no more walking, hardly talking, hardly eating... I guess his heart had had enough. So grateful for the extra two years I had with him, when I had gone back to Belgium to be with him. He was so happy (in tears) when he heard I had found a new job over here, that I was renewing my relationship with my kids... Thank you, daddy for everything. I will miss you. xxx

Oh God bless you Llieve....what a beautiful picture. It's so representative of the leaving of this world and moving.....I cried when I saw it ; it reminded me of my husband's recent walk toward God's light.

so sorry to hear about your dad, i have lost my dad too, and most recently my partner from MND, so i know your pain, but i believe god will get you through this, and your father will still be with you in spirit, for when the body dies i believe your soul lives on, and you will notice the signs that he is around you like i have. xx

Thank you - it's been a rollercoaster day - but so much love. I spent time talking with friends and family, went to see my kids who have lost their 'Opa'. Preparing to travel back to Belgium for our last goodbye. It is a blessing he left the way he did - it was all getting too much, he didn't have much strength left and was very unhappy, to be a burden to my mum, to be stuck inside this crumbling body, waiting for it to end. And it did, sooner than we had expected. Reading so many stories on here, I know this end is what we all hope for, PSP or not. Very sad but so very privileged to have known this wonderful man.
