Debbie I can imagine your relief to have a nurse who understood. Thought it might be pneumonia. Is he on intravenous antibiotics? Make sure they don't mess with his meds though!

Try to rest while you can because he will be weak after this.

A big hug to you.

Debbie, Why no food or drink? Is your nurse still there?

No we've lost her, they moved him to another ward, they wouldn't allow food or drink until the SALT person had seen if he could swallow as there was high risk of him aspiring again. SALT person saw him yesterday afternoon and he had juice, tea and yoghurt.

Sorry you lost your nurse. Glad that your husband is eating and drinking again though.

Wow what a wonderful coincidence.....well wonderful may be to positive of a word but it sure is nice to have a medical personnel person know the full scope of PSP let alone soemone who has actually heard of the disease! Well let's hope F s pneumonia will soon be a thing of the past and he'll be breathing easier soon/

Hope F gets well soon. Like others have said, make sure you are getting as much rest as possible. Just the effort of getting to the hospital is bad enough, without the worry and the exhaustion of sitting by a hospital bed. Keep that to the minimum. When he comes home you will need your strength. Plus loads of extra help. Start working out the rota now.

Brilliant about the nurse, it's so lonely, in a strange hospital world, where nobody knows anything about this evil disease.

Lots of love

Heady so nice to hear from you again. Are you resting and sleeping too? I hope so as you have been so tired at times. Most of the time actually? I am sleeping eventually but constantly going through things in my head! Driving myself mad. Does anyone else do this? How do you stop?

Hope you still have family and friends around you? Lots of love.

((((Hug))))

I would be under the table! I can just about manage a glass...on a good day 2! Not a great drinker Heady! Even passed the NHS quiz the other night and I really really need to lose weight! I passed because I have never smoked and only have an occasional drink! To make it worse they told me why I had passed it and advised me to exercise! Would if I had somewhere apart from the Care Home to go to! Have noticed all the carers are overweight too! Makes me feel at home!

Amazing about the nurse. Puts it into a different perspective on all counts.

Being with him will give him strength to come home. Stay well and warm.

This disease makes me rant and rave.
