I've just put Colin to bed. I hoisted him to a standing position and put Proshield Plus cream on my fingers ready to cream his bottom. Just in time I realised it didn't feel right. I had put toothpaste on my fingers by mistake. I think I had better check the two blue tubes tomorrow when I clean his teeth. Yuk!

I once put Keith's mouth drops into his eyes and was really worried, however I have found out since, that the drops used in his mouth are also eye drops, thank goodness!

Remember my old grandad getting confused when he came to stay. Put his false teeth on the bedside table and his hearing aid in the glass of steradent. Must have sounded like he was underwater when he put it in the next morning. Ha ha xx
Do you mean π? I don't know if it represents anything in particular. I hope it's not horrible. I thought it may be how someone would look if they put in a hearing aid that had been soaked in steradent.
I use an IPad Jill. At the bottom left hand side there is a smiley face. Click on that and a whole lot of pictures come up. I can't get them any bigger though. Someone may know how to.
My wife was prescribed atropine to combat excessive salivation, the dose is one drop under the tongue 4 times daily. I wear bifocals and I couldn't see any drop forming at the end of the very small nozzle of the small plastic bottle so I just gave it a good squeeze. She didn't pee for 24 hours after that. I haven't tried it again since.
Ever used cephalon cream ? Its a pepper based cream for arthritis which I have to rub on V,s knee joint . You've guessed - yes I did -its very very hot - whoops indeed .
My wifes personal hygiene carer has a friend who is a policeman and he mistakenly used deep heat on his private parts when he was in the shower..Was off work a few days.
NannaB, I think you need to buy a different toothpaste, to make sure the tubes aren't the same!!! Or new glasses! I hear Specsavers offer a good deal. Perhaps you could offer your story for their next ad!!!
Love all the comments you have been getting. Especially Peter Jones!!!
Yes the comments have made me smile Heady. The strange thing about the toothpaste is that I dont know how it got there and don't remember seeing it before. It is a Tesco spearmint one in a blue/ green tube, almost the same colour as the cream. Also on his "bits" trolley is the Colgate white and red tube that I would normally have used. I think maybe our son who stayed recently left it here by mistake and the carer bought it from the wet room onto the trolley. Either that, I need new glasses as you suggested or I'm going loopy.......yes, probably the latter.
You guys are so funny. I have been looking for a full time job for a year and a half now. I check this web site regular. If I have had a really hard day, I will not even read it because it makes me more upset with this awful disease. You are all a hoot on here tonight, and I loved your funny stories. The funny now, bad then story I can come up with is my husband taking the Prostizine (to help him go pee) for the first time. He is like all men that have prostate problems. One of his doctors is 70 with the same problems. He recommended the pill. My spouse took it just before going to bed, and he was suppose to take it with a meal. He was up at least 15-20 times going to the bathroom that night. We have a new grandchild and were told to be very quiet and not flush the toilet. It wakes the new baby. That was a challenge. The medicine really works. He takes it all the time now. No more going to the bathroom and sitting for thirty minutes to an hour.
C takes similar medication. Oh how I remember trying to hold him up while he tried to pee into a bottle. The strange thing was, if I tried to walk him to the toilet he would do it on the way but when we stood by the bed he couldn't go. I even tried walking with him while holding the bottle but had to stop doing that when he nearly fell. It's surprising how much I have forgotten until I'm reminded by posts like yours.
I am curious that you are looking for a full time job. Ignore me if you think I'm too nosy but do you have someone else at home to look after your husband if you are at work all day. I had to give up full time work 6 months after diagnosis. If your husband is still able to look after himself I don't blame you for making the most of this time.
I cannot afford the 700-900 a month for both of us to keep our existing health insurance. I was going to try and keep the BC/BS for just him as a secondary medical insurance. Yes, I do think that I will have to get help to come in for him. The money that I would make will cover for a sitter, and I will be able to get health and life insurance. It is bad how companies make you take over the full premium when you retire or cannot work anymore. My husband is not at retirement age yet. He will be 62 tomorrow.
Working part-time, I would fix him something to eat before work. He would heat it up in the microwave. He is falling often, having trouble talking, and having trouble eating (he has lost 50 pounds). I have got him a security button that he pushes if there is an emergency. He can still text me also, and I keep my phone close when I am away. My daughter was telling me about a place that lets them come and stay for $20 a day, but I have not been able to check into it. It said that they play games with other patients during the day. With him not being able to talk well that might cause issues.
I do not mind you asking. It helps me to talk sometimes. NannaB, I always enjoy your posts.
Are you in the USA? You said in one of your posts that you went to Birmingham. I pictured you in Birmingham UK. I'm not surprised you have to work with a hefty insurance bill. We hear lots of complaints about our National Health Service but for us and PSP it has been very good so far. I hope you manage to find full time work soon and manage to get a good sitter so you can be away from him without worrying too much.
