Youth group kids are are building B a wheelchair ramp! 36 feet long (about 11 meters). B does not totally need this but they were ready to build so I just could not say no. From materials to time it all is free! They would not let me give any money to them so I make sure the kids have enough to eat and drink....veggies did not go as fast as the chips......How about that !hahaha

I sure appreciate this group...They are, I believe, associated with Methodist...If I learn how to send pictures....I will send some on...

That's a long ramp. Is it to get into the house? I'm all for getting the youth of the church doing community work. With some of them it will probably be the first time they have had to complete a task for someone other than their family and for some of them, the first time they have done anything for someone other than themselves. They will feel so good when they see B using it for the first time and give them a real sense of achievement. I presume they have a youth leader; did he/ she eat the veg?

A couple of weekends ago, our church had a community help day. It involved all ages and folk went out in groups gardening, decorating, clearing rubbish etc. Colin and I used to take part in this annual event but but this year a friend who doesn't like gardening and has never decorated, phoned me and asked if we could be her personal project. She is one of those strange people who likes housework. She spent the morning washing down all paintwork on our doors, cupboards, skirting boards etc. When you see or read the daily news you could easily think the country was full of evil people. The good ones far outnumber the toe rags and need more publicity.

I hope you can get a photo on here. I'd love to see their efforts.

How lucky you are abirke to being able too have that done for you. Gee, wonder why the chips went faster than the veggies :) We don't need one yet for D. Tried to hire someone to do it anyway but he royally screwed it up and I made him take it off. A real idiot. Happy for you!

Uhgg i just wrote a long note to you and Auddonz and it went away! so here it goes again Thanks guys you are both so right it si so good to see youth going out beyond themselves....It does make for a better human being. B and I used to teach VBS but our congregation has dwindled and aged. No more kids per se. neighborhood kids don't go or go elsewhere. These kids have a good leader ( 4 leaders, I believe) even if he they didn't eat the veggies ahahaha! And I do agree with you NannaB, most of us do do good each day but what gets on the news is the dramatic bad news. I did not know of the good things that South Carolina church was doing for people from around the world until it was shot up and 9 people died!

Theres a tv show in the states called," What Would You Do". It creates these scenarios for the public to unkowingly be a part of to see what they would do. The characters in this one scene were checking out of a toy store when the mother found that she could not pay for the son's birhtday gift. Almost every customer in each of the scenarios who were next to the characters, stepped up and paid for the toy, even though they did not know the mom or boy! And time and again the show explores how people will step up to the plate for other people....It is just a small example of how we want to be a loving world and not be afraid to reach out......

Auddonz, you might find a youth group in your area who is wanting to help someone. I would encourage you to call a few churches to see what they offer!

Ladies Keep a stiff upper lip eat your veggies! And pay it forward when you can!

Thanks Jillannf6. Well i hope the stuff on your plate is palatable. If not, scrape it off and wash.hahaha! Newton's 3d Law states that an action/movement will experience an equal and opposite reaction. Death's equal and opposite reaction is the hereafter. Weird way to prove Gods way . But when I heard Newton Laws, I was blown away!

Good luck wiht stuff on your plate! ;)
