The Raining Has Stopped!

Well, this time a little time passing has been a positive thing. Yes, my son-in-law's father died yesterday. It was a blessing as he was very aggressively upset and did not know his family. And it had been expected for weeks. But the most wonderful news is that my son has turned the corner and though still very sick, is on his way to a long recovery. I have been trying for 24 hrs. to place my husband in a nursing home which will take him for the three days I requested, but the wheels turn oh so slowly. We are now waiting on the doctor to sign the order and fax the required material to the nursing home. It is so much easier to provide emergency care for the dog rather than the husband! Thanks for all your comments and prayers.

I hope the nursing home is sorted out soon. Everything with mum took too long but with hindsight some of the time things happened too slowly and too late because mum's progression was so fast and relentless and was waiting for no one and nothing.

I hope the experience is useful for both of you and that you can get some rest.

Oh, dear Caroline -- So sorry about your son-in-law's father. We'll send up some prayers for the whole family.

But very pleased about your son's progress. We'll keep him and you in our prayers, too.

On the lighter side, have you thought about putting your husband in a kennel? (Gotta' laugh at life's ironies sometimes just to get by.)

Safe travels and give us an update after you see your son.

Hi Caroline,

Its amazing the difference 24 hours can make.

Stay strong and may your husband get a place in the nursing home soon.
