Post surgery - now two years later - I found I could still climax, but without semen. And, yes, for an active gay man, I mourn the loss. But worse, instead of semen, I ejaculate urine. Forcefully. None of my oncologists have any sense of what to do. It has been a very difficult thing to accommodate. Has anyone else experienced this problem? And if so, what if anything have you done about it?
Ejaculating Urine: Post surgery - now... - Prostate Cancer A...
Ejaculating Urine
It's called "climacturia." Here are some clues that I've picked up from other gay men over the years.
• Restricting fluids for a few hours before sex, especially coffee, tea, Coke, alcohol and fruit juices
• peeing before sex (sit down and rock around or in the shower - whatever it takes to fully empty the bladder)
• a constriction band around the base of the penis (also helps maintain erection)
• lay down on your back and don't change position
• use a condom
• get rubber sheets, and just enjoy water sports
Unfortunately, I suspect that ED meds (like Cialis) may make it worse.
If you really want to empty your bladder, avoid drinking for an hour or so before sex and right before use an intermittent catheter
My partner has this condition, but since I love watersports, it's not an issue. We just make sure there's a pad on the bed or in a place where cleanup is minimal, like a shower or tub. Depends on what you and your partner are into.
Hi. I'm 8 months post robotic prostatectomy for cancer. I can now, albeit with a still sift penus manage to have a dry and good orgasm. But, I'm constantly squirting urine, virtually the whole time I'm masturbating. It's very off putting. And puts me off any form of sexual contact at all. For a gay man, its very upsetting.
Is it urine? If you're not incontinent and the ejaculate is clear and viscous, it's likely precum or the lubricating fluid the Cowper's glands produces. I have the same... I hesitate to call it a condition, but for lack of a better word, I'll use that. And sometimes it's a lot. When I did ejaculate semen, it probably consisted half of the Cowper's ejaculate. It's what tinges cum with that slight saltiness.
Hi CPNo it's definitely urine. I'm still not fully continent yet. About 75%. It just trying to masturbate with a still soft penis,, can't get hard yet at all, even on 100mg viagra and I'm squinting pee virtually all the time I do it. Soooo annoying
I am 2.5 years post RP and get hard with a pump which requires using a restriction ring at the base of my cock. On occasion I leak a squirt of urine which only come out AFTER I have taken the ring off. Have you been "re-habbing" your cock by pumping daily? This is really important. AND TAKE NOTE...... urine is 100% sterile.
Hi guys, I am almost 9 years out from robotic surgery and as a gay man it was the worst thing that could happen. My husband of 42 years has been amazing. I get hard all the time now but it has taken years. I still take Cialis daily and I do precum tons, but I also squirt urine, a lot of guys love that, but I don’t. Im 62 now and have just learned to live with it.
We all have our lists of what we can no longer do, what we miss, what we wish we can do again, etc. My mantra is something I heard from another PCancer survivor..... "Instead of mourning over what you can longer do, enjoy and embrace what you are able to do!" I have a partner who loves me and is still interested in sex, and I can still orgasm!!! I'm fine!
hi, yes i experience that. But not every time. And allways less and less. I m now 1 year after surgery and it doesnt happen anymore
I have the same issue. It will be 5 years since prostatectomy and 1 year since ADT and salvage radiation for recurrence. Not fun! I thought mine was related to ongoing incontinence following surgery, but perhaps it goes with the territory. Emptying the bladder as much as possible limits some urine, but the forceful nature makes it difficult to predict how much is released. Extra towel nearby helps somewhat. Sorry to hear that you are dealing with this.
have you asked your Dr about getting an AUD?
