Change in semen after biopsy

I had a 32 core biopsy 6 months ago. After the horror show of blood spurting out for the first few weeks and then light brown/red semen for months after, the color has resolved. The consistency has not. It is watery and mostly clear. I am going in for a follow up biopsy in a few weeks.

Is my former thick semen gone for good? Do biopsies forever change this?

That’s weird the former consistency has not returned especially after that long. The vampire semen is shocking even though you’re told it’s going to happen. Took me several weeks for it to return to normal but the consistency for me did return to the same milky consistency as pre-biopsy. I hope that things turnaround.

Is there more information missing in this story? Surgery, treatment of some sort, medications? I well understand the blood issue after having a 30 count core biopsy but what reason has your urologist given you for your cum not returning to its milky thickness? Have you ran this by him/her?

I had 2 months of ADT (stopped because of side effects) and a canceled Brachy (canceled because radiologist was not giving me full info and seemed more concerned about his bottom line than my health). Thanks for the info, it appears this is not normal and I will ask new Doc what he thinks.

I suggest a quick revisit with your urologist with the information you shared here and get his or her feedback before going forward. Sadly not all healthcare agents are in it for equally noble reasons. Interview each as much as you can and make your acceptance on the feedback and comfort. I realize it’s not for everyone but I include you in my hopes and prayers.

So I asked my Main Doc about this, as he just went through this himself. He also said his semen is not the same - 8-10 months after biopsy. Watery and not the same quantity as before.

So this is something no one seems to talk about. A warning from your Doc would be good before the biopsy, so it is not a surprise after.

He says he is not sure if it will resolve after time or if this is permanent.

Hi….I just finished my 3rd biopsy in about 4 years. Each time semen has returned to thick and gooey but remains clear. Volume is about a teaspoon and still feels great to release.

It lasted 2 weeks that my semen was bloody and then watery but it quickly got back to normal. I regain all its sticky and gooey texture that I loved and its beautiful white color and the strength of my ejaculations has returned. I was able to at least appreciate and enjoy this for the 2 months wait before I have my surgery. I hope the biopsy will give you good results and you will not lose that
