Does anyone know anything about penile implants? Those pumps which you can control with a pump in your scrotum? Your experience, opinions and/or knowledge...greatly appreciated.

Penile implants
I had my penile implant implanted in April 2016. Not a day that has gone by that I have not regretted it. It was the best decision that I made. Of course you will get the negative responses from those that have HEARD, with no first had experience, bad outcomes. Learn all you can before making the decision for yourself. You tube is a great place to start, and then ask more questions of those of us that have the penile implant. Best of luck, Dale
Thank you. If you can, please tell me more about the pain, recovery and cost? How is sex?. I haven’t had a total prostatectomy yet but just investigating everything. So you are happy with it?
Hi Gpinkk,
To answer your questions:
For me, due to high tolerance to pain, I did not have a lot of pain from the surgery to implant the penile implant.
The recovery period is 6 weeks, with a two week check up after the implant surgery. Then four weeks later is the activation of the penile implant by the surgeon to make sure all is working fine.
For me the sex is beyond wonderful. (I am a top, oral versatile)
I had to stay over night in the hospital after the surgery only due to the fact that I am a cardio patient, (Triple by-pass), other wise I would have gone home that afternoon.
The cost, I have no idea. I am retired from the military, and the VA did the surgery. So no cost to me.
I am very happy with my penile implant. I would do it again if ever becomes necessary.
But I must say, you are a long way from penile implant, if you have not had a prostatectomy or other procedures to address your prostate cancer.
I had my penile implant 6 years after my prostatectomy. It is the last resort to get erections back after all other methods have failed.
I realize that you are thinking ahead, but don't think to far ahead. Especially for something that you may not even need.
Any more questions, please feel free to ask.
Thank you for sharing. I have more questions. Well, is it very painful? What they place in the shaft is the equivalent of two balloons? So you pretty much have an erection when you want? Has there been any sensory or sensibility damage az a result of prostatectomy or implant? (Does sex still feel good?)
You really should go to YouTube.com, and type in penile implants. Watch all the videos that are available. Yes, I can have an erection anytime that I want. There had been no sensory or sensibility damage done what so ever due to the penile implant surgery. Sex is wonderful.
