Urologist recommending penis pump. Suggested looking online/Amazon. Before I do that: your experience? recommendation of type, brand, features? I hate to sound dumb about this, but I've never used a pump before. I'd appreciate your feedback!

About three months after my radical prostatectomy (surgery was 10/9/18) I purchased a pump in the hopes of achieving a "stuffable" erection. It is an IMPOAID Vacuum Therapy Device (VTU-1) made by Encore, Inc. Got it for about $100 on-line. For me it's a decent penile rehab tool, does pull blood to the penis and surely helps maintain tissue health. As far as getting a good hard-on, nope. It seems to have the opposite effect. I manually stimulate after pumping and get about 50% firm, put the pump back on -- and my penis decreases in length and increases in width. Funny sight I must say. Never got far enough to put the constriction ring on my pecker.
Before I went on permanent ADT (and didn't have any libido anymore), I used a pump. I think it's worthwhile for penile rehab. Mine was neither a sex shop toy nor a $500 model. Sorry I can't remember what it was.
The The penus pump is really a medival torture device. The suction is painful. Once you apply the suction and you get the penis erect, then you have to put this tourniquet rubber band around the base to hold it in place so painful you lose all erotic feeling
Well had my surgery in 2002... so its been 17 years I haven't been able to achieve a full erection (semi at best). I love my pump! every time I use it, I utter "Hello Big Boy" I've had, and tried, many over the years. Expensive or just a cheepie on amazon, the end result is the same.
It was my uro who recommended the therapy. He said no blood flow will atrophy the muscles and all will disappear. My advice, get one, use it...
My surgeon recommended a pump to break up scar tissue and restore length. It did a pretty good job of that, and added girth, too. I don't know that it did much for circulation, as such, but I could slip a cock ring on and go to it just fine. Because it traps the blood, though, my dick was cool to the touch. It felt fine, but it was much harder to achieve orgasm. But I did. As far as pumping itself, I was kind of curious about whether I'd find it erotic, but it turned out to be just another exercise. I would pump up and play solitaire on my tablet at the same time. Message me for details, if you want.
Look for a pump called "LA Pump" it has a gauge and the tube size is available in different sizes. They also sell replacement parts, tubes and fittings if a replacement is needed. Look on line for availability.
I got mine from iMedicare, a company that visits the prostate cancer clinic I attend. I will get me hard but not hard enough for penetration unfortunately. I would advise you buy one though.
It was €269 , I bought it cause I believed it was safer than the kind sold by sex stores as it has a limiter although they are much cheaper. It is specifically designed for men in our position.
