Robot assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy - PSA confirms microscopy after surgery

PSA, 7 weeks after surgery, was 0.01 ug/L.

Recall microscopy after surgery reported the tumour was no longer prostate confined with capsular penetration and extension into periprostatic fat. Tumour extended very close to the posterior surgical margin but in none of the sections did it reach this margin.

PSA and Microscopy indicate the tumour has been completely removed.

Recovery to date has been uneventful, minor incontinence and major erectile dysfunction.

I hope you are doing penile rehab.

Yes I started Tadalafil Sandoz 5 mg/day about 4 weeks ago (after your reply to my last post). Some improvement.

That's fine if you are fully continent. If not, it may interfere. A vacuum pump everyday is good - it may prevent size loss.

During the night I'm fully continent, during the day a cough or a sneeze, etc causes a drop. I take Tadalafil 5 mg an hour after my evening meal.

Agree with TA, I encourage you to get a vacuum erection device (VED) and use it daily to help keep the tissues healthy. My RP was several years ago and I used the pump almost daily for 6-8 months and believe it was very helpful. I also used Sildenafil most evenings. You don't need a medical grade pump, the inexpensive ones work fine for rehab.

Thanks allie2020. Can you remember the brand name of the VED you used?

You are very welcome. It seems like the brand name of mine was "Works" or something similar. I couldn't find it. But, it was very similar to the one in this link. Manual, bulb type pumping device, release valve, very basic. I think you want to stick with manual and there are probably dozens of them on Amazon. Mine was around $25.
