My husband had his biopsy yesterday on his prostate, and now just waiting on results which he should get in 2-3 weeks. He had an enlarged prostate and two small nodules near his lobe, and a 7mm lymph node in his pelvis. So keeping fingers crossed for good results. His P.S.A 72.

You wrote " P.S.A 72."

Did you mean 72, or something else?

Thanks --

FWIW --

In that case, I'd be worried about metastatic (out-of-the-prostate) prostate-cancer tumors. I don't know how the UK health service works, but in Canada, a "bone scan" would probably be prescribed to check for them.

It's possible he just has a really nasty case of prostate inflammation and/or enlargement (several names -- prostatitis, BPH (= benign prostate hypertrophy), etc). Only a biopsy will give a firm diagnosis of prostate cancer.

Stay in touch --

Thank you he did have a bone scan and a MRI scan before having the biopsy.

I would read everything you possible can absorb here as well as other places. Keep a positive outlook but assume the worse only so you can start thinking of your next three steps ahead. If its all good, no worries, but if not you will have a created your going forward plan. Just my thoughts :-)

Please see my reply on the CLL forum .Fran 😉

Make sure the doctor sends a biopsy sample to Johns Hopkins, Dr Epstein, for a second opinion. He is the best pathologist in the country, and many of us have used him.

2 to 3 weeks for results is way too long to wait Poke, prod you doctor to get them in a week or less, then read, read, and let us all know what's going on.

Thank you.

I was speaking with someone that had a 56 PSA and later on determined it was something else and was now 1.2 so you just never know
