Spike in PSA

My husband has been on Zytiga w/ prednisone for 14 months after tolerating only 3 cycles of chemo. His PSA has been below 1 for a year. This week it went from .44 in July to 2.59. It seems like a big spike with really no other physical symptoms. We retest in late Sept, but wondered if others have experienced a jump like this that was caused by something other than having run the course with Zytiga?

Similar to failing Xtandi, the docs mentioned having three consecutive PSAs showing a definitive rise and also prefer to cinfirm progression in a scan before discontinuation. Others swap the Prednisone for something else.

Thanks, I guess the good news is there are other options. We’ll see what the next test brings.
