A quick update. Was diagnosed April 2023 PSA of 9. Had Cyberknife in November. 1st PSA (at 60 days was 11.96). This alarmed me. They told me to wait another 6weeks and test. Today it was 9.1.

I'm considering this a win for now. Am I wrong?

It sounds like prostatitis. Not much can be done for it. It relapses and remits on its own, and IMO it never completely goes away. All you can do is test again in 3 months.

Nothing was reported on biopsy, but in MRI it was noted that I had “mild benign hyperplasia”. Could that be an indicator?

BPH will probably get fixed because those cells die off. Unfortunately, prostatitis doesn't get fixed.

I had SBRT in July 2021 when PSA was 19.3, First post treatment PSA was 5 and most recent one in December was .57. I rejected ADT as as part of my treatment plan. My RO has been very happy with my declining PSA so i guess i am. I will be 84 in March. Interestingly, my RO ordered Testosterone test for me when i had last PSA and it turned out to be 314. First T test i have ever had that i know of . Meeting with my RO next week for routine follow up...at least i hope it's routine! I started out when i was scheduled for SBRT hoping/expecting PSA to go down to zero area, but i guess that was unrealistic. Having had PCa since July,2015 and with other health issues like heart disease and T2 diabetes, I dont worry about cancer killing me anymore. Just hope Im right! Best of luck to you going forward. BTW are you a UC Bearcat? I am!.

I was born in Cincy and lived there until i retired in 2000. Now live in Gainesville, Georgia but never miss a Bearcat football or basketball game if it is televised down here. I was a Cincinnati police officer back in the 1960s and then got into the insurance biz. Graduated from UC in 1976. My son also went to law school there. Love my Bearcats!!!! Good luck to you!

Hi Chasbearcat999 - I see you went with Cyberknife. How was that experience ? Any side effects? Why did you decide no ADT ?

The experience was easy. Enema, drink 20 oz of water. As for adt, the medical team felt that, in my case the benefits would would be minimal. They seemed to have a formula that they used based on Decipher, # of cores, Gleason, location, etc.
