PSA and Labs Interval Change

After 13 months on ADT +Zytiga and another 12 months post H DR Brachytherapy followed by EBRT my MO says my PSA and labs are stable and we can go from monthly testing to every 3 months. My PSA has been around 0.11 until this month when it was .08., I’m glad for the extended testing but anxious as well. Current plan by MO is to stop ADT and Zytiga at 18 months. Still a little nervous about that as I am not truly undetectable even after a year. Just sharing my anxiety as I continue on this journey.

Good plan. Yes, it is anxiety-producing to wait for the results of the radiation and hormone therapy to become apparent.

.08 is undetectable for radiation. <.1 is and to some <.2 (maybe this is for those with no radiation or chemo based on who I heard it from). I know the feeling and I can assure you test anxiety for me has never gotten better.

You have something big to look forward to, 5 more months and you are off the ADT which will impact positively your quality of life(although it takes some months to get out of your system).

As I remember it, only prostatectomy gives a PSA of 0.0. ADT, and radiation, even if combined -- if they're successful, they yield a PSA which is _low, and stable_. You don't have to worry about prostate cells that aren't multiplying.
