i found out i was pregnant in 2011 just before xmas i started heavy bleeding to the point where i way ammited to hospital by ambulance and almost needed blood. i was in A&E and a woman from gynocolgy came to see me she done a scan however was having difficulty as she had not used that type of scan machine before, she told me i had a miscarrage and inserted misoprostol in me to clear everything (i was 11 weeks pregnant by then)..... however the next day i went for a scan before my d&c and my baby was fine alive and kicking heart beating fine etc, whilst i was stunned so was the nurses and doctors. i then went back for a routine scan (at 17weeks) and they descovered my unborn child had a heart condition from then on i was back and forth to hospital to see heart specialists. i was advised that the heart condition could have been cause by the misoprostol i was given, my son is now born and is 3 months old we have been told he is having a major complex heart operation before xmas, then one again next year, since he has been born we have had numerous problems and he has been in and out of hospital. i just wanted to know if any one else has been through this situation & could give me some advice ..............

I am so sorry about what you have had to go through, whilst I have no direct experience in what you are going through I wanted to offer my thoughts. The first thing that I thought was negligence! I really think you need it get a proper investigation to what happened to you during your pregnancy to attempt to get answers. It cannot be easy seeing your little one going through numerous doctor appointments. My cousin was born at 25 weeks with heart and other problems. She was in and out of hospital when she was young but now she is a popular, happy, 23 year old.
