Sack measures 6 weeks but contents 4 weeks

I had my viability scan yesterday, the sack measures 6 weeks but the contents are undefined and measure 4 weeks. We’ve been told to go for a repeat scan in 10 days to see if there’s been any growth.

Could this possibly be a viable pregnancy? My instinct tells me that it’s not viable and I’ll have a miscarriage soon.

Has anyone had experience of this and what were the results?

hi I’m so so sorry you have had this news it’s so hard to be without any answers 😢 what did they mean by the ‘contents’ did they see a yolk sac or a fetal pole etc? At this point these things are really tiny and a mm makes the difference between a week. I hope it’s better news in 10 days when you go back xx

They couldn’t see a heartbeat or a fetal pole but there were ‘echoes’ there, ie it wasn’t an empty sack . She said it’s as though the contents of the sack measured 4 weeks so it wasn’t clearly defined yet.

Tbh I’m coming to terms with the idea that it’s not viable, but will see what they say next weekend when I go back. X

😢 I’m so sorry I’ve been there myself and I know how hard this can be. I hope you get a definitive answer soon xx
