Potty training

Hey!My boy is now 2 and a half. We have decided to potty train him as he's pulling at his nappy alot. Now we are on our 2nd day and the first day went well, I've been popping him on the potty every 20/30 minutes and then he's very happy once he's done it. Sometimes I've left him on the potty and he's stayed on there until I've left the room and he's come calling for me to show me what he's done.

Now, we're on our second day of this and I thought I'd leave him to see if he acknowledges himself when he needs to go and he's not, he's just wetting himself. Now, wondering whether to stick to what I was doing to start with but I'm worried he's going to rely on myself to tell him when?

Hi,

It can take months before they reliably know when to go to the toilet, on day 2 I think your a bit keen lol!

Keep doing what your doing for at least a week if not longer. Then move on to prompting when you know he will probably need to go rather than every 30 minutes.

My son never had an accident (we waited till he was just over 3) but we still send him to the loo before we leave to go somewhere.
