Hi, I was diagnosed with PCOS in January as my ultrasounds show cysts on my ovaries along with chronic pelvic pain. Generally a doctor or gynaecologist will diagnose you if you have 2/3 of the following:

• Chronic pelvic pain

• High testosterone levels (determined by a blood test)

• Ovarian cysts (determined by a transvaginal ultrasound)

However, it’s unlikely a GP will diagnose you without a referral to a gynaecologist so I’d suggest asking for a referral ASAP as there was a 6 month wait for an appointment for me and I also had to have an extra ultrasound as a part of my referral.
