Headaches

Hi! I’m 6 weeks + 1 day pregnant and for the last couple of weeks been suffering really badly with headaches. Spoken to my Dr and they told me to check my BP which was 137/73 which I understand to be pre high BP. Haven’t spoken to them again since as they didn’t call me back like they said. Went for a private scan today too and she said everything looked normal (baby measuring at 5w5d but said that’s normal too). But I’m just wondering how I can cope with these headaches. Paracetamol doesn’t really seem to be touching them (not a lot anyway) and I’ve been using kool n soothe too which does ease the pain a little but doesn’t get rid of them. Sleeping okay too so it’s not that and taking all my vitamins. What else can I do besides paracetamol, rest, light exercise and reducing salt intake to help with the pain as it’s so debilitating? Thanks!

Not that I’m remotely medically qualified, but make sure you’re drinking plenty as well, many headaches are brought on by dehydration. I’m getting them too, have always suffered hormonal migraines and the midwife said I can expect them to continue throughout my pregnancy x

There isnt an awful lot you can do unfortunately. I suffered from really bad headaches too. Paracetamol helped ever so slightly. Standing in a hot shower can help, spraying on your head and neck. I sed a forehead stick which also helped a bit. They do eventually get better but it's hard going.xxx

You will be fine. Just stay hydrated and rest a lot. Avoid stress. Xx
