Hello there,
Has anyone got a bicornuate uterus and did it affect your birth plans ie did you have to have a c-section etc? Were you deemed higher risk?
Many thanks in advance

Hi,
I have a Unicornuate uterus (half sized) and I was considered high risk and had to have a c section. Ollie was breach the whole pregnancy (which is common for UU) and he came 3 months early, also common xx
Sorry, was meant to add that I think UU is a lot rarer and also higher risk due to uterus only being half sized. I would imagine you should be considered high risk due to having IVF though? I hope your pregnancy is going well xx
Yes I think breach is common for BU too and pre-term. Just wanted to check others’ experiences. So pleased Ollie seems to be doing well. Yes I’m considered high risk although the reasons for why seem to be mounting up 🤦♀️. Just something else to worry about!! Thank you for sharing Xx
Hey, I have a bicornuate uterus, I had my son 2 months early following induction but it was more to do with him measuring small, they were monitoring him for growth throughout my pregnancy but no probs with my uterus as the growth monitoring took over! Hope all goes well with you xx
I felt the same, there was always something the hospital wanted to monitor. Son was born 6 lbs 8oz with no problems, he is still small for his age following below the 25th centile line but everything is good with him. Best of luck with your pregnancy, it’s good they like to keep an eye on you but know it’s stressful at the same time as never sure what they are going to say when you go for appointments! Xx
Small but mighty 😘. Glad he’s doing well. Thank you. Our baby is still breach (I think) so doing everything I can to turn her naturally but just trying to relax a bit and think what will be will be! Xx
