I used to gluck gaviscon by the bottle 😅 but is general avoid spicy things, don't eat too late, small often meals rather than big ones

Completely agree with Roxannacar. My heartburn/acid make me physically sick and unable to lay down flat. All of the things already suggested definitely help including the bottles of gaviscon advanced (which you can only get over the counter) which I also swig straight from the bottle!! I also avoid drinking water right before going to bed as that makes it worse too. Laying on the left side also stops the reflux better than laying on the right. There is some science here but I can't remember it!!

Hope this helps! Xx

During my last pregnancy my heartburn was awful and I found it hard to get comfortable at all. Personally I can't stand the texture of Gaviscon but I did find that eating Softmints or Extra Strong Mints and drinking milk helped ease the discomfort. I'm 21 weeks now and I have started getting heartburn again so I'm keeping plenty of mints and milk nearby. I hope you find something to help the discomfort xx

I am 21 week today and the heart burns started 3 days ago 😢 I'll definitely try your recipes!

I remember friend of mine being pregnant and drinking bottles of Gaviscone 😷

But what is gaviscon?

This medication is used to treat the symptoms of too much stomach acid such as stomach upset, heartburn, and acid indigestion. Aluminum and magnesium antacids work quickly to lower the acid in the stomach. Liquid antacids usually work faster/better than tablets or capsules.

In UK it's widely used by pregnant women, actually everyone who suffers from symptoms mentioned above.

Good luck!

Yesterday I did not have a heartburn but then I ate banana and it gave me one 😢

I feel your pain I suffered horrendously with heartburn with my daughter to the point it used to make me sick. I found eating smaller lighter meals slowly helped a bit, I slept with 4 pillows so I wasn't flat and also sipping milk helped. I didn't find gaviscon helped the texture made me sick. Your midwife or doctor should be able to help with more remedies. I'm only 7 weeks pregnant atm dreading the heartburn stage 🙈

My doctor has given me Ranitidine, gaviscon just isn't working anymore!

Drink plenty of water through the day and try to avoid too many spicy foods or very acidity fruits. Eat little and often. For me I used the rennie mints. Lots of people told me the heartburn was all because my baby was growning a good amount of hair on his head, and it was true. My baby boy is 13 days old and looks like he already needs a trip to the barbers. Good luck Hun. All the best. Xx 🙂
