Poor you.. I had the same issue. I was having heartburn through my pregnancy. Eat frequent small meals or keep munching on whatever you feel like eating. Anything with caffeine or cocoa gave me a worse heartburn. Ice cream really helped me. I had eaten tubs and tubs of ice cream. If you are a milk lover, few sips of cold milk will reduce the heartburn. I also had cumin seed water( 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds boiled in 1 cup of water and strain the water before drinking). Bless you.

Also struggling with this. I've found sleeping slightly elevated helps in the evenings, when mine is the worst. I also won't lie down on the sofa after dinner, because it will almost certainly start after that. During the day, I will have a small glass of milk when it starts and try to drink a lot of fluid on the whole which helps. Certain foods may trigger it, so try to keep an eye on that and avoid those things.

Sorry to hear about your heartburn and sickness. As your other replies say I find milk helpful (probably semi skimmed or whole milk better) and eating little and often, particularly something carb based to soak up the acid. Try not to let tummy get empty. Sleep propped up with pillows or on left side. You can get a wedge pillow e.g on eBay. Avoiding tea, coffee, citrus fruits. Try to finish eating 2-3 hours before bed. Have you tried the Gaviscon Double Action tablets? X

Hi I'm just commenting as I'd like to follow this post. I'm 35 weeks and struggling with heartburn and acid reflux really bad. I've tried Rennies, Gaviscon liquid and tablets. I've found the Gaviscon double action tablets are the best but they only provide slight, temporary relief. It's really bad at night and affecting my sleep!

I go for a short walk before bed and it's definitely helping. Also small cup of half milk/half boiling water before bed. X
