I recently came off the pill so that I could get to know my natural cycle before we start trying to conceive. My tracker says I’m due to start my first non-pill period tomorrow (28 days after coming off) but I have absolutely no signs that it’ll happen. How long did it take for your first period to come in? Should I be regular straight away?

Period after pill
I know this is completely different and the hormones in the pill would have been different to mine but I had the coil previously and when I had this out it took about 2 months for a proper period to start and I don’t remember having any signs really it just came out of no where I had a period tracker app and it wasn’t when it said it was going to be, I continued to monitor my periods on my app and for about six months then they were still each month but sometimes my cycle was shorter and some times it was longer until my body got back in to a proper cycle. Hope this helps xx
Hi Trevenna - I didn’t have a period for 2.5 months after coming off the pill. I used period tracker app Flo and my natural periods averaged between 30-40day cycle. In the settings you can change your average period cycle and it amends your predicted ovulation days. When we actually started trying for a baby we conceived straight away we had sex one day a week for the whole week it predicted I was ovulating (as I didn’t have a precise cycle). I am now 20 weeks pregnant. Good luck - those first 2 months with no period was nerve wracking and worrying (feeling I wasn’t normal - I had been on the pill for 14 years) but stick with it you will get there xxx
My first period after coming off the pill was 6-8 weeks after I finished taking it. I then had regular cycles of 28 days. Had a few months regular cycle then stopped using contraception and conceived two months later.
Took me 5 months
