Heavy period after miscarriage?

Hi,I'm just looking for some help. Basically I had a miscarriage at around 5 weeks pregnant,since then everything has been fine no bleeding etc (other than when I was having the miscarriage). I started my first period since being pregnant yesterday and its been such a heavy period,I've had really bad cramps since a few days before I started my period which is still going on and a lot of blood clots aswell. Its got to the point I've bled through 2 tampons in about 1-2 hrs. I've taken Ibuprofen and paracetomol but i'ts still really painful. I'm only 17 and I'm really worried incase I have an infection or something.

Did you get a scan to make sure all pregnancy tissue had passed and did you do a pregnancy test?

No i went to A&E when I started bleeding and the doctor asked for a urine sample,the test actually came back negative in the hospital but i done pregnancy tests at home which were all positive. He just said that I have most likely had a miscarriage and sent me home. They never took bloods or done any scans or anything like that they took my blood pressure and tested my urine that was all x

I’d ring the EPU and tell them you mc explain what’s going on they’ll be able to advise better and might offer a scan. I’ve had 2 mc didn’t have any clots with my periods after unless that’s normal for you I’d go get checked out.

I've also had 2 miscarriages and it wasn't this bad the first time. Thanks for you're advice I'll contact them tomorrow x
