Best age difference

When is the best time to try for another baby my daughter will be 2 in april I'm just worried how she would react to having a baby brother or sister me and my partner have decided we would like another one we just don't know what the best age difference is x

I don't think there's any rules or advice anyone can give you on this, just when it feels right for you I guess.

My daughter had just turned 5 when I told her she was going to have a little brother or sister and she was not happy. She reacted in an awful way but we just made her involved in things such as scans and asking her to pick things to buy and when he started moving she used to feel him kick and she ended up being really excited. Despite the almost 6 year age gap they are so close now. My little boy is 3 now and she is 9 and I am 37 weeks today. She has been excited for this baby from the start but I was worried like you about my little boy because I am so guilty of babying him but he can't wait and has been so excited from the start.

Every situation and every child is different and will react differently but from my experience getting them involved and making it sound exciting really helped xx

Its a difficult one..really its your decision, personally for me (im pregnant with my 2nd currently) my LO will be turning 3 a month after new baby arrives...we kinda wish we had gone for it sooner but now we think our 28 month old is starting to understand about baby and actually she will be a great age by the time baby is here!we've potty trained her etc etc so no big changes when new baby arrives either. Also i had friends that left trying for a baby based on planning the "perfect" age gap and then took them months and months to conceive their 2nd being stressed about it as time went on. I wouldnt want a gap bigger than 3 years, thats my personal opinion though as Im hoping they will have a close relationship/similar interests but you never know, bigger age gaps come with their own issues!its a difficult one but im sure you will make the right decision for you xxx
