Hello community fam, pray everyone is safe and well. I wanted to get some feedback from anyone who would be so kind to share. Recently I had my check - up with my Neuro; not bad just trying to figure out nagging "lower back" pain and tingles. I do have to monitor exercise (when I feel like it) cause I have a tendency not to pace myself.
My doctor ordered (3) MRI's Cervical Thoraic and Lumbar spine; w/o gad. Well, this would have been my twenty second MRI - but I started crying after the tech said "3 hours." I cancelled the procedure, and was told I could request sedation if my doctor gets approval. He will hear from me tomorrow. The good that came out of this was the patient waiting after me, and today was my injection day, hot who knows...besides hearing 3 hours in a tunnel.
Thanks for reading
Blessings

Sounds like an ordeal you have to face at some point.Been there, though not as often. Those MRI set ups can be really uncomfortable and it seems to take longer than what is expected.
I don't know if you are okay with sedation. Most often it's very light just o relax you and help ease anxiety.
Can the three hours be broken down so you can relax in between?
What ever you decide I hope it all works out the best for you.
You're welcome. Don't worry it'll go well and you'll have it behind you.
Thanks so much for your warm wishes to all of us stepsforNeeC. I don't blame you at all for being hesitant to face an MRI of that duration, without some help. Hopefully you'll get approval for sedation which, though it still won't make for a fun three hours, should help you get through. Wishing you all the best for that procedure, and do let us know how it went, afterwards. Take care!
Thank you friend, I think Copaxone shot day didn't help either lol. Now the battle with insurance approval, hopefully shouldn't be too difficult. Peace -
Actually they did, the process and length of time would have been too much for me. I prefer the sedation or in different segments.

Hi 3 hours is a long time. I remember my friend going for one but she felt very chlostrophobic. When she returned to have it done again they sedated her . I have sedation when I have a gastroscopy or colonoscopy.. . They gave me ketamine last time!! I only gagged once , best sleep I've had in years 🤣😹 I did ask(tongue in cheek) if I could bring some home. No was the answer 😂🤣😂🤣 Hope everything goes well next time. Please let us know how you get on
Thanks for the love and I remember having Ketamine for something? Upper Endo...who knows lol. But you're right, by the time you count backwards - 98; "lights outs." Blessings
