I went on a cycle ride today as there's little wind and we have glorious weather. I cycled 25.072 miles and walked 8,853 steps
Something completely different hence the 'bit of history' in the title. My husband is doing some family history, he's been looking into it for a long time now, he said some of his relatives were buried in our local church, this was a bit of a find. After lunch we went down to the graveyard and found a gravestone where 3 of my hubby's relatives were buried. We now have 2 photos of the gravestone.
The photo of the sea and the cliffs is looking out from the church graveyard.
Hope you've all had a good day.

Definitely; we'll have to go a lot further afield for my family as my dad was from Durham and my mum was born in India as my granddad was in the British Raj out there.
I'm also looking and tracing back my family history so was interested to note you had discovered family members in your local churchyard. It is very exciting when you start going back into the archives so I would imagine this little discovery by your husband will probably encourage him to delve even deeper into his ancestry now. Very exciting.
Definitely and it was great finding out the grave was so near. We'll have to go a lot further afield for my family as my dad was from Durham and my mum was born in India as my granddad was in the British Raj out there.
This has encouraged him to start doing it again, he's gone back to the 1600's.
Hi me and mam are going on electrics bikes then it's a bit easier j used to like my vintage big light weight wheeled one πxx
Thank you Jerry, it really has and still is a beautiful day, chilly in the shade but lovely in the sun.
I know, he was so pleased to find that the grave was local. The church really is situated in a lovely place looking out to sea. We'd have to go a way for my father's side which is Durham and my mother was born in India as my grandad was serving out there in the army.
Hope you have a loveky evening.

It really is very interesting looking back at family history and it really is a nice spot where our local church is. Nothing like being prepared, at least your family will know what you want ππ
