Hello I was recently diagnosed with divicular disease and have been sick with it for a while. The doctor has put me on antibiotics. How long does it take to feel better any advice x amber

If the antibiotics are working for you, you should start to feel a little better in three to four days. I don't know what type or length of treatment, but that's just generally the case with any antibiotic that is doing its job. But whatever happens, take the whole course, and then see how you are at the end of it. If you are no better, contact your GP again for further advice.

My dad had diverticulitis and antibiotics normally seemed to start working well in about 4 days. Hope you start to improve very soon.x

I have dealt with diverticular disease for many years! Importantly, antibiotics help within a few days! Maintaining a dietician’s diet plan, makes my coping with this ailment, possible! I would recommend seeing a professional dietician, and following a strict diet, created especially for your diverticulitis!

I agree, ddmagee! Chart foods as you re-introduce them, especially raw veggies, to see which trigger a relapse.
