I make spelt sourdough bread every week, I do love my bread and it's my one vice in life, although the brownies made with sweet potatoes could be the otherπ.
Hope you have a good day. Mine's housework at the moment and then the gym.

Thank you, I'm a shocker for bread and make it every week. I store the starter in my fridge and just feed it every time I use it. xx π
Hi Alicia and WOW on the bread my gran used to make the best bread and we have made pitza bases that are better than shops mam made some wholewheat bread last lock down and it was real heavy a baker man bought some of dad's bikes and he said mix white and brown I know you use special flour and is sour dough bread buy this is for anyone else reading who's has problems with bread, when I get my new house when a miracle happens I would love to start trying different things, it's quite nice here and I'll be walking out today and everyday no matter the weather take care and enjoy your bread and exercise hugs from pixie who is good as is asleep lol πxx

Thank you Mandy. I do love homemade bread although I would like to eat some different bread i.e. granary, I always loved it but sadly I cannot so hence the spelt sourdough. Good thing is, I know exactly what's in it. Oh you will get your new house, it's going to be a 'meant to be' moment when all of a sudden the right buyer will come along and buy it.
HiI get sourdough rolls from sainsburys, I find that it is better to get rolls, as only I eat sourdough, and getting a loaf is wasteful as I can only keep it two days then it tastes like vinegar. Would love to make my own, but not sure how to.
I've looked at the Sainsbury's sourdough bread and unfortunately the loaves have barley in them, I cannot tolerate barley at all, it's my IBS. My bread would be exactly the same but I freeze it, I freeze just about everything hence having 2 freezers. My husband and me eat very differently, I'm a Vegan and am following the Low Fodmap diet for IBS and he's a meat eat, we are polar opposites, good job I do the cooking π.
Hi AliciaI am not good at baking, the rolls I buy are not ideal, but have not found anything suitable. I do love my bread but also suffer if I eat any bread. I also have IBS, had it for many years. I am a vegetarian but not keen on vegetables, ( lol )
I do take after my mum as I've always baked, I used to do sugarcraft but rarely do it now as it does take a lot of time and patience. I was never the best at cooking meals but since having to follow the low fodmap diet I've improved as I've had no choice. I'm a Vegan but all the ready made food has onions, garlic, pea protein (I cannot go anywhere near peas) and many other ingredients I cannot have so everything is homemade. I actually do love vegetables but cannot eat many at all, they play havoc with my system. I was originally diagnosed with IBS in 1996 and apart from raw carrots could just about eat anything until I had food poisoning in November 2018 and that turned the IBS completely on it's head to diarrhoea and acute nausea but the low fodmap diet has been nothing short of amazing so I'm definitely not giving it up.
I'm not really sure how long it keeps for as I rely totally on the freezer but I'm sure I read somewhere that it was about a week in the fridge. Definitely best to freeze though.
I thought that when I first saw it, it's surprising how easy it is to make, I'm so glad I found the recipe.
Oh IBS is definitely no fun at all.
You're welcome. ππ
Ok silly question for you Alicia, if I donβt want carbs, can I follow through being vegan? Carbs make me feel bloated. I use protein to suppress hunger also. Thanx π€xx

Not a silly question at all KoKo. Lots of people think you don't get enough protein. Pulses have protein as does quinoa, tofu, nuts and many other foods. I use quinoa alot, I'd much rather have it than rice and it's good for you xxπ€

I do love quinoa (here in CA we have Costco they have frozen packs very convenient). I do consume Brown rice Some time. Wheat Bread for breakfast usually. Tofu is something I am in doubt because it has phytoestrogen which can affect hormone. I do drink Soy and almond milk. I will do some more research before I make the commitment. Thank you Alicia for your expertise π xx

It's an excellent grain, I do use it alot . Soy milk is the best plant milk.
Nuts are of course another thing I love, I make my own peanut butter, I love it xxπ

Very nice link I read. Thank you. Wow you make your own peanut butter thatβs talentedπ€. The most I do is making my own fresh jam for breakfast. Hmmm, being vegan can be something positively new for me to go into the New Year xxπ

Peanut butter is so simple to make, you roast the peanuts in the oven until a light ish brown, cool then process in a food processor. Well done on making your own jam
Have a look at Veganuary if you're thinking of trying veganism in January.
