I prefer the classic ones myself as I think the evening current one is a load of rubbish!

I make sure that I watch the classic ones even if I have to record it and catch up later. Think the characters are better, more humour, softer, more gentle, better acting and scripts. Though the current story with Liz is getting to be a bit rough - am fed up with the modern one and the Oliver story.

I have been a lifelong Corrie fan but don't watch now as I don't like the direction it's takenI appreciate they feel they have to move with the times but it's not for me.I cant remember the last time I watched it.I watch the classic ones. It's great to see the old characters like Reg, Fred, Maud etc. I'm looking forward to the time when Blanche appears. As you say, more humour, more gentle, better acting. Just what I need at the moment.

yes totally agree - i love Vera, Jack, liked Bet a lot, like Alec Emily Mavis and Derek, will miss Joyce who just died,

am looking forward to when Ian McKellan is in it later. Ken can be a bit sour and pompous.

Talking of Ken,I worked with a guy who looked like like him, who was a bit full of himself. One day I said to him 'do you know who you look like?' He looked all hopeful but the look on his face when I said Ken Barlow was priceless. It had us in stitches. I later found out that he fancied himself as a Harrison Ford lookalike 😊

If he fancied himself as a Harrison Ford look a like he sure was full of himself - he looks very old and past it now anyway.

I love watching the classic afternoon corries. More humour, love the actors. I watch the modern ones aswell but if i miss some episodes i don't worry about it! 🙂

Same here - though the classic one is getting to be a bit rough now with Liz Fraser and the policeman.

Why did Steve Mcdonald end up in prison in the classic corrie? I just could not remember. 🙂

I like seeing the characters in their earlier days- like Roy Croper.

Thought it was funny when he wanted to buy Alma's share of the cafe and everyone assumed he was mad and pennilness.

Yes!!! He's come in for a lot of misunderstanding over the years.

I've still to watch the Liz one. Yes the others would be good to see.

Didn't see it cos I fell asleep.

I've sort of lost interest in 'Corrie' now wiserlady as I think life does all the drama so much better than it can, but yes, I love some of the classic ones with their good humour and innocent entertainment.

not sure if drama is a good thing in your own life though - if someone was black mailing me, taking me to court, beating me up or throwing me in prison ! much better to watch it all h appen to others.

in reply to wiserlady

Lol that’s very true though if I do that I like to see it done well and Corrie’s attempts are usually a bit feeble!😁

the recent attempts in the evening ones have been feeble, it seems to be all thugs, criminals and violence now, which is why i prefer the pm one
