Dear All,

I want to 'Set Up' a Simple Email Account, for my Mother. I Don't need a Buisness Account, A Charity Account, a Marketting Account....or ANYTHING other than a 'Name@hotmail.co.uk' or 'Name@hotmail.com'. I'm NOT having much 'Luck'..... perhaps it's just ME.

So far Not much 'Doing'... apart from one Site that I had to Join, for Advice- fully Refundable, you understand. My own Account was 'Set Up' forme Many Years ago, now by an IT Tutor, of all people.

Can anyone Offer, my Mum....and Me, any advice Please?

Many Thanks

AndrewT

You can’t create new hotmail accounts, but if you enter hotmail in your browser it will take you to Microsoft outlook, which has superseded it. There you can easily set up a free account.

Actually I just had a look and you can choose either an outlook or hotmail account on the outlook site. There is a drop down menu.

This article talks you through it.

I'm a technical idiot but I managed to set up gmail accounts OK. You don't need a domain name. The difficulty is finding a username which isn't already taken! You might need to get a little creative although it should give you some suggestions once you get started. Also make sure you keep a note of the password...... I speak from experience here 🤔

Greetings :) I hope you got the account set up for your mom. I Google everything, but you can also call your local library, and they can give you step by step instructions on how to set an email account :) . I like Gmail, but there are quite a few others to choose from.
