I hope I'm not passing on stale news, as this was first mentioned in media earlier this year, in that Margaret Seaman, aged 91 and an accomplished knitter, was going to undertake a project to knit a hospital! Yes, really. This dear lady had already completed other fantastic projects too, including a wonderful representation of the royal residence, Sandringham House (she's from Norfolk).
And she set about creating the Knittinggale Hospital 🤣, to raise money for the NHS!
I watched a news bulletin last night showing that the project is now complete. In its different way this is every bit as newsworthy as Captain Tom's achievement. While he was completing laps of his garden, Margaret was completing this amazing piece of knitted art to help raise money for the NHS.
What an achievement! And just like Captain Tom, she's an unassuming but lovely person who has just got on with it!
Well done Margaret! 👏👏👏

I must have missed that. Wow, so clever. My mum was an amazing knitter as is my sister. But me - I wasn’t even in the queue for that talent 🙄, so I do admire those who do and even more so for those who knit without a pattern or are happily clicking away without even looking at the needles!
My dad who was Irish and born in the early part of the 20th century was a great sock knitter. Only one of my sisters took after him and produced the most amazing dolls, clothes and toys. I like to think I can, but the first dropped stitch or losing of my pattern place and it all quietly goes into a drawer, never to be seen again! 😁
You are right, there are so many worthy people who find ways to support the NHS. Many of which we will never hear of. Its the the same with voluntary workers who give their time willingly to support so many causes. What would we do without them.
Wow!! What an achievement and what an amazing lady!! Margaret (my Mum's name) is an inspiration!! As you can see my Mum was called Margaret and an excellent knitter!! I can knit but as soon as I lose a stitch that's it!! My Mum used to sort out my mistakes!!!
