We have wondered so often why they weren't using them. Weren't they supposed to be kitted out for Covid and if so, why on earth aren't they using them - they could be using the other beds for the surgeries etc that they are cancelling due to bed shortage, it just doesn't make any sense.
The Nightingale Luisa Jordan in Glasgow is being used for diagnostic and other procedures to clear backlog - certainly for now - and they say it can be in use for COVID in days if needed.
The one at the principality stadium has been moved up to the main uhw site and been rehomed in the old lakeside offices that were empty calling it the lakeside wing.
The London one at EXcel still exists but where are the staff going to be found from? If anyone saw the recent BBC 2 series Hospital you will understand what strain the NHS is under. You cannot magic doctors nurses and ancillary staff out of thin air. Another great example of the chaotic mismanagement of the pandemic by this government.
I don’t know how much us news you get but California is in much the same dire condition. They just ordered several thousand more body bags. I don’t know why it’s so bad there. Many of the rest of the states are staying steady or flattening the curve slowly
