Hi everyone, our huge spud came 1st in village fair and all the villagers marvelled at it. Won 50p and a certificate!!! Good turn out outside, wonderful weather and loads of different veg and flower entries. Proceeds to church. Gave Mr Spud to our lovely neighbours, family of 5 and half was used for roasties.

How wonderful to win a prize, well done. Your neighbour makes a fine looking roast potato. 👍👏👏

Brilliant! These fairs are a celebration of the harvest. Unfortunately many had to be cancelled this year. Its not the prize money which is important, its the fun of showing off our produce. I would think your special potato made enough tasty chips for the whole family.

This was the 1st time we'd had a summer fair. We are keeping a selection of veg for Harvest Festival when produce is displayed in the Church, flower arrangements in all the windows and then the produce is donated to the needy, so all worthwhile. 😁👍

Such a lot of good things come out of these festivals. I love seeing these displays in the churches. Harvest Time is such a symbolic time which has been celebrated through the ages.

Well done you! What a whopper! I was going to enter some of the classes in our local show this year, but sadly, like many others, it was cancelled. Such a shame as it's the onetime of year that all the village come together. Never mind, next year …..xx

We were lucky with the weather as it was held on the village hall carpark. They had egg and spoon races🥚, 3 legged races and something for everyone! Great success 👍

How do you plan to spend the £0.5?

You could put the money towards a frame for the certificate?

Yes, they only charged 25p to submit each entry! .Think they should have charged £1 as it was for the church. Just a fun day and a new idea. Think Mr Big would have lasted us for ages. We have another one slightly smaller. I only cook potatoes on a Sunday! 😂
