โ€œWho am I?โ€ is one of the questions that we go on asking ourselves. Is it based on our ancestry, our career, our well-being or our social circle? What questions would you ask to get the most information about who a person truly is?โค๏ธ

Good morning Gb2 โ˜€๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜. How are you today? You bring great points as our careers, our circles can change during our course of life. Getting to know others likes and dislikes is very fresh ideas ๐Ÿ‘ Correct me if I am wrong: Why do you think ancestry limits to farmers? Is there a particular field?

Thank you for another post that challenges what we know. It may be a difficult question but those are the most worthwhile. Discovering our true self will help bring peace to our beingโค๐Ÿค—

Youโ€™re welcomed ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ™. Yes it is one of the most difficult question as we go on finding ourselves through out our life journey. It is very refreshing to learn something new about ourselves everyday.โค๏ธ But back to my other question, what would you ask to get to know another person? ๐Ÿ˜

I'd ask them what gives their lives meaning๐Ÿคจ

We are touching on life purpose subject now. How they define their life purposes will open up a whole can of worms to oneโ€™s ego. ๐Ÿ˜

You bring up 2 points here.

1. Generations pass down their tradition, their line of work.

2. Your local state, your city, your area will lead you to the type of work you have.

Ancestry will be based on these two criteria?

Hi Jerry, that is very fresh and friendly approach to get to know a person. It is one of many great social skills as we show our interest in the most gentle way. It makes other feel comfortable and willing to open up their world to us and vice versa. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™

I'd like to know what someone's true interests/intentions are. I don't mean hobbies. I mean are they a narcissist? In my own personal experience people are generally but not always in one of two camps.

They are either out to help THEMSELVES in life by using others or they are out to help, empathise and support OTHERS by being kind and empathetic.

Just my view.

Thatโ€™s great so you just tight everything back to your original reply as ancestry does not determine who you are. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

And it's important to remember that people who look out for themselves only such as narcissists, psychopaths and sociopaths are absolutely brilliant wordsmiths and are highly skilled in mirroring, love-bombing and manipulation. Not many people are aware that 1 in 4 people are psychopaths or at least score very highly on the Hares Psychopathy Scale.

For that reason if I asked them a question about who they were I wouldn't necessarily take their word for it because in my experience actions speak far louder than words to me.

INR - after reading several replies regarding this; i'm feeling compelled to chime in....

it's not that everything tastes like chicken....

almost all meat tastes like meat!!!! if you don't season meat - with few exceptions - all meat tastes the same. you can taste a heme-ish flavor; and you get umami from the fat.

the only exceptions i'm aware of - are almost all in the fish category.

lamb, and possibly deer - have flavors that can identify the meat.

when i went vegan many moons ago - this is the main reason i never missed meat. fish is the only meat i've ever really craved. and on a few occasions i will have certain fish... i consider myself a rare-pesca-otherwise-vegan! ;-)

.

the only reason most meat tastes like something - is because certain meats are traditionally seasoned in certain ways. when you 'like' the taste of meat - it's mostly the seasoning you're enjoying!!

GreatMindfulness profile image
GreatMindfulness in reply to 13ga

Hi Rob thank you for your expertise in meat department.๐Ÿ˜ I wanna point out one more detail how about textures? Different meat has its own texture and sometime people prefer certain kind. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘

13ga profile image
13ga in reply to GreatMindfulness

texture does play a role - but in truth - most meat has a very similar texture... certainly there are some differences... but those are usually small; and don't generally contribute to the flavor profile...

GreatMindfulness profile image
GreatMindfulness in reply to 13ga

Ehhh๐Ÿ˜‚ okay Rob, you start digging a hole here. ๐Ÿ˜ You should define what is meat?๐Ÿค”

โ€œMeat is made up of long cells called fibers, and each individual muscle fiber is wrapped in a sheath made of collagen. The individual fibers are in turn grouped together in bundles, with each bundle also wrapped in a collagen sheath. While the individual muscle cells (fibers) are too small to see, it's these bundles we distinguish as the grain of the meat.โ€

For instance beef tendon is a very popular dish in Asia and the texture is completely different and it contributes to flavor. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

13ga profile image
13ga in reply to GreatMindfulness

generically speaking - when most people use the word "meat" -

it refers to any part of an animal which is consumed as food.

this can include: muscle, tendons, sinue, fat, any organ, skin, etc...

GreatMindfulness profile image
GreatMindfulness in reply to 13ga

Yes Rob, we are on same page about meat category. ๐Ÿ‘ Would that be all similar in flavor is my point? (Letโ€™s say steamed dish no additional seasoning)๐Ÿ˜

Koko...

the question is completely irrelevant!!!!!

ask any question not about the person. see how long it takes before they start talking about themselves. see if they ever ask about you - and see if they listen to your answer.

that tells me all i need to know about anyone. cause you can't have a real conversation, if it's all about them.

.

i did see a reply where someone asked what would you want to do if you could do anything.

i think that's a great question!

i wish 'i had more money than god'. i'd be a philanthropist!! i would spent my time running around, doing random acts of kindness!!!

i would love to stand in a long line at grocery checkout - and quietly tell the cashier - "hey i'm paying for everyone in line"!!

i'd love to go to restaurants and quietly, and anonymously pay the tab for others!!!

i'd love to just walk around a busy place, and secretly drop $100 bills in peoples pockets!!

i'd look for people in need... and payoff their house; buy them a car; give them an anonymous grant toward their education!!

i'd leave bills in places for people to find! remember how fun it is to find your own money in a pocket you forgot?? just imagine leaving $100's around for people to discover!!

oh i could go on and on with creative ways to find and help people deserving of a little unexpected joy!!!!

GreatMindfulness in reply to 13ga

Great spin on what question you would ask. ๐Ÿ˜ Hereโ€™s my perspective, any question you ask will somehow relating to the person more or less because you wonโ€™t be able to answer if you havenโ€™t had any experience about it. For instance, you can ask: how is the weather? what do you think about that XYZ movies? They can answer back with an objective or subject POV. Hereโ€™s the reality: as soon as something is perceived, we human start labeling, naming, interpreting them, likes, dislikes, all in objection of consciousness, in another word, ego. You will start forming your opinions from their answers no matter what questions you ask them. ๐Ÿ˜… Now either they can be a great listener or great responder can come from social skills also. An introvert vs. extrovert. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Yes, if you have extra to spare, tip them like a Rockefeller ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘

13ga profile image
13ga in reply to GreatMindfulness

that's a great take on the subject. it's definitely a multifaceted question; and we are multidimensional people... so there are a lot of variables, and many ways to interpret... i definitely gave a more 'quick / knee jerk' answer...

i appreciate your perspective!! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ
