The fire break seems to be holding, the winds are in our favor, and we received the 10 fire engines along with a nice hand crew and a few more bulldozers. So things are good for now.
Everyone is beat, but can’t fully relax due to the fire east of us.
The weather folks say we are in for a few more days of lightning starting on Sunday.
Tomorrow will be spent getting ready for the next round. Loading more hoses, sharpening saws, fueling and refilling water, re-supplying the fire engines, and more.
The fire crews are already stretched pretty thin. Hopefully we can dodge the worst of this.
Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and support. It means a lot, even if we are not geographically close neighbors.

We are all thinking of you and your family, the fire crews and all those involved in the massive task you have been enduring. That sound like a bit of good news long waited for with the extra help coming. I hope Sunday will pass by quickly for you all. 👍🌈
Sounds exhausting dave but at least you have a little respite for now. It's just come out on the news that 165,000 people have been evacuated and six people have died - so tragic. I hope you all find the strength needed to fight this for as long as you need it and that you will all be kept safe. 🙏 x
There is no doubt about finding the strength. I was with a bunch of fire fighters today while re-programing their radios to the latest frequencies. A resolute bunch with good attitudes.
I'm sure you were glad for a short 'breather' daveh121. You must all be feeling exhausted with the effort needed to beat back these terrible destructive fires. Keep faith and fight hard, and I hope you will soon succeed! 🙏
Hi Dave and everyone in your community. My thoughts are with you all. 😳 Australia has just been through the worst fire season on record. The most important thing was the willingness our 👨🚒👩🚒 firefighters to sacrifice so much of themselves for the greater good. Indeed a special breed of human 👍
Yes. I hear some Australian fire fighters are in the way to help. As well as the Canadians. We owe you a great debit that hopefully can be repaid during a happier time.
