Well Shoot

Sorry I can’t respond to everyone that has commented but time is short and fires are coming with a lot to do for our community. Thank you for your kind thoughts.

We are bordered on two sides by areas that have been evacuated.

We can only get out by one way.

My wife is a volunteer EMT with the fire department. Our son is a volunteer firefighter. I handle emergency communications for the community and county. All are busy.

As such we will be the last to leave or go shelter down at the beach if need be.

This really is annoying.

Our long time friend was found dead today. Suicide. I guess the stress pushed her over the edge. She had everything going for her and a lot of friends to talk to if she had only reached out.

Maybe tomorrow will improve.

I'm so sorry to read about your friend. This is so sad and tragic. You, your friend's family and other friends are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Oh, I am so very sorry about your friend daveh121. It must have come as a terrible shock and must me very upsetting for you and your family. It is hard to fathom why people don’t reach out. You and your family are doing a great job for your community and I hope you and all your colleagues are able to say safe throughout this dangerous time you are facing at the moment. 👍🌺

My heart goes out to you in this awful situation.

So sorry for the loss of your friend, right now it doesn't sound like you have time to allow yourselves time to mourn and come to terms with that loss .

None of us know what pushes a person over the edge but your family are doing so much to help your community that if anyone could have helped it would have been you.

I feel that when you have time to process this sad news you will eventually accept that no one could prevent it. The nature of the blackness in someone's life is such.

Praying that you and your family stay safe through this time.

I applaud you and your wife, it's amazing what you are doing.

I'm so so sorry to hear about your friend. There is nothing you could have done about it, once they make the decision that's it.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Try not to dwell on it. Severely depressed people don’t think normally and it’s hard even for professionals to unravel their thought processes. Please you and your family stay safe and I hope and pray the fires spare you.

Thanks for your thoughts and thinking about Old Ike. It’s hot so I hose him down a few times a day and he is doing well.

So far we are ok but things are getting a little more stressful.

The fire bombers showed up today which was very welcome. Lots of retardant drops.

Lots of work at the firehouse, and emergency communications, as well as trying to ease everyone’s concerns.
