One white and one spelt wholemeal. Mixed some porridge oats in with spelt flour. White loaf very light, spelt very very dense. Sliced and straight into freezer as we only eat 2 pieces each per week. Keeping carbs low. Anyone enjoy making bread?

Well done your bread looks good. I’m going to try and reduce my carbs after the weekend as I have visitors.
Hi diana1998, those look delicious! Yes, I do very much enjoy making bread but no chance in this household that we'd get by on only two pieces each a week. And neither of us have any dietary restrictions around what type of flour is used, so the bread I bake is limited only by my own imagination and knowledge.
My sourdough starter is quite the VIP and lives happily in my fridge, receiving almost as much attention as an extra household member.
I must admit though that, during the past week's heatwave, I've been less keen on baking as my apartment is so small and holds oven heat quite badly. So looking forward to doing more again, as the temperature drops a bit.

Yes, so hot having the oven on 😩
Thank you. I totally agree. I made all sorts in lockdown including teacakes and freezer got fuller and fuller so had to stop making it for a while!! So satisfying.
Those loaves look delicious!
