Did a bit of cleaning and a bit more sorting out, didn't venture out as its been miserable weather wise here today, always tomorrow, been looking online for a couple of birthday cards as although the local card shop has reopened I'm not sure if they'll let customers pick out a card and read the wording inside, so it's going to be easier for me to get them online

Hi Jennymary, We've both been home birds today! I agree that getting hold of birthday cards has been challenging. I'm a crafter and normally do my own anyway, but sometimes getting hold of the necessary postage stamps has been challenging. A couple of times I've resorted to Moonpig and they are reliable but the end result isn't always amazing. But at least the words are good, as you add your own!

I've been busy all day baking bread. It smells great in the apartment, and I'm sure I'll give i and eat too much, while it's still warm! Have a great evening!

Always good to get cleaning done. Weather was okay this morning/early afternoon but it's raining heavily now and is quite cold.

I've been with my granddaughters and my dsughter, their mummy.

I went into a card shop last week and had no problem browsing at all, they were very good.

Take care xx😊🌈

Been out today to the post office and the chemist and then back home and watched some films and went on future learn as well

I went to the doctors to pick up a blood test form so the warfarin nurse can take my blood at home instead of me going to the doctors 🤯 the doctors wouldn’t post it out. Madness, I was not amused 😒

You would have thought they could have posted it out or emailed it to you

I think you have probably got the right idea about getting your card online. I have been like a yo yo today, waiting for the right break in the weather too take the hounds the beach. They had a great time when we finally got there. It's a regular place quite close that I use a lot before lockdown so it was nice too get back. It's not a place you see to many people. I decided I need to loose a little weight so I started making changes today. I don't call it dieting, I don't like that word and think it's a negative and confusing word. There are no magical diet sheets for losing weight. It's hard work, portion control, increased exercise and will power. I weighed myself today and I will weigh myself once a week till I lose the weight I want. Hope you are having a good evening. 🌸👍

The weather was horrible yesterday, stayed in all day, no wee walk today. My neighbour had a skip delivered in the drive, it’s a shared drive so I had the heebies when the driver manoeuvred it beside my car. Eeks, but take my hat off to the driver, no idea how he did it. As my shopping got delivered, I made a lovely lamb casserole in the slow cooker, watched tv getting depressed and jealous of the hype for super Saturday. I’m in Scotland and still in lockdown, but I honestly think our first minister is right to keep us in lockdown just now, way too soon. Hope everyone has a good day x

I was busy for me: laundry then ironing later, vacuumed all downstairs, chatted with FB friends on Messenger, planted some Alpines in a new (small) rock garden, made a chocolate cake and read a book.

Painting in the morning..

I have learned that there are 3 types of paint;

1, Supermarket cheap and cheerful.

2 . Contract paint, a bit more expensive but good for walls that haven't been painted before. 3. Trade paint - a lot more expensive. I recently had some external paint work done by a competent professional painter and I asked him why he used expensive trade paint.

Simple, he said. I spend a lot of time getting the surface prepared, cleaned, filled if needed, sanded down and wiped over with a damp cloth. I use water based paints and when I paint I want to be able to put the first coat on quickly and easily. 4 hours later the second coat of paint is applied and that is it. Job done, pick up my sheets, collect my money and go.

I don't want to have to come back because the coverage is a bit patchy, or it has dried unevenly, or it needs another coat.

After I had a very tasty salad for lunch we went out for a walk along a local river bank for about an hour and a half, compared fitbit readings and dived inside as the rain arrived.

After tea I spent some time looking at English Heritage and National Trust Gardens. The 5 mile limit is about to be lifted and I really want to see a few fresh places. Roll on Monday.

Nothing as usual, I have a hyper grandson so keeping the house clean is almost impossible. I usually wait till he visits his dad. That might be today?

We went to a card shop yesterday, they restricted customers and had sanitizer and social distancing, it was fine.
