Manged to dodge the showers to go up to the market, really pleased I got there, came home with, apricot cake, fruit cake, cherry cookies and a strawberry & apple crumble, and all apart from the biscuits can be frozen. Other than that I've been in pottering around, tesco shop coming tomorrow, trying to create room in the freezer now, had enough for tesco shop but might freeze one cake and the crumble

Hi Jennymary, I'm really pleased you managed to get to the market and sounds really tasty what you bought. I think having treats really makes you feel so much better.
I'm glad your Tesco shop is coming tomorrow and that you manage to locate room in your freezer.
Take care and have a lovely evening.
Alicia xx
We have some treats in as well here!
How lovely, that's something for you to look forward to. Enjoy xx๐๐๐๐
Your trip to the market sounds yummy! Those items are some of the same things I like to eat.
For me, today, I've been listening to a new serial podcast about crypto-currency fraud. I also have a deadline for work that's due on Monday and I've completed one of the work activities, so that's good.
Will work on another work activity later this afternoon.
Finish cleaning the kitchen.
Just trying to take it a bit easy on an overcast morning in the San Francisco Bay Area. My July is very busy with work--which is good. And tiring!
I wish everyone a good day, however you choose to spend it.
Those treats sound delicious! We have a half eaten battenberg cake here in the cupboard and some posh biscuits as well as treats!
Today I have been for my usual daily walk and went round the neighbourhood still quite close out and humid, been doing courses on future learn as well and preparation for my interview on Monday and applied for some jobs I was interested in as well.
Good luck on Monday (I might forget tomorrow)
Hi Jennymary, glad you managed to make it to the market. Sounds wonderful. That was a good haul! Sounds like quite a nice day all around.
It's been a good bit cooler here today and is still overcast, but dry. So I'm feeling a lot brighter but not very active as I was back to binge watching the last of my Italian TV series. I feel a bit bereft now! There will be another season to come, but for now... what on earth am I going to do with my time? Take care Jennymary, and have a good evening.
Here in Cardiff its cooler than it was on Thursday but its still humid out as I found when I went for my walk this afternoon.
Baby the cat is happy now its cooled down as she was driving us all mad with her bad tempered meows!
Hi catgirl1976, Oh I'm delighted to learn I was not the only owner of a grumpy cat, during the heatwave. Kasar miaowed constantly for two days, demanding that I turn the heat off. Blissful silence now as he's catching up on some sleep ๐พ๐
Today was pleasantly busy.
I fed the horses (not many people around so that's relatively safe, plus I carry sanitizer in my car as some of the tools are shared), mowed the fire break for the barn manager, emailed some friends, sat in on a "bring your own book" bookclub on zoom. I tended some plants (I have a bunch of broccoli just coming up that I'll transplant soon) and made and shared an online jigsaw puzzle from a drawing I did.
I also did some clean up (I called a handyman as I need some help, and my goal is to sanitize before and after). Ditto, for an oil change for my car (clean up and sanitizing underway). Once they are done, I'll do another layer of clean up as I (as many here) have some risk factors, and even with things opening up, the virus is still there. Looking forward to the vaccine (maybe next year?) and to hearing more about the improved treatments.
Because I've been doing the isolation without much in the way of family, I made a goal of reaching out to people, even if I haven't heard from them for a long time and even if the relationship wasn't great. Some of this has worked out well, some gave me a chance to use my "self compassion" class tricks to let go of expectations when they didn't work out.
It is better than it was when I decided I needed to act, though I'm hoping for even more learning and change and connection.
Hi, the market sounds great. I can't remember the last time I went to a market. I will find one and go soon. The cakes sound delicious. I walked the dogs earlier today. Did the chores. I dosed off early evening, something I never do but I was out yesterday with the granddaughter and I guess was more tired out than I thought. I do have insomnia so I never look a gift horse in the mouth. Now I'm catching up on the Post's that I've missed this evening. My late aunty lived in Oswestry and I loved visiting the farmers markets with her. Everything hand made. We would have an afternoon of it. I would often go and stay for the odd weekend. It is a lovely place. You post mentioning all the cakes reminded me of it. ๐๐ธ
Today was a nice bike ride then reloading the wood shed.
That sounds lovely JennyMary, Iโm in Scotland and Iโm afraid to say the rain didnโt let up here, it was coming down in sheets, even the gutters were struggling. No little walk today, I was extremely bored. I did make the nicest Victoria sponge with a new recipe I saw in a magazine. Only thing is I had no one to help me eat it, we canโt have visitors inside yet. I decided to freeze half of it. Iโm dreaming of going to shops or going out for a meal but will prob be a bit apprehensive at first, took me a while to get out for a walk but itโs great to be able to do that. If itโs the same today, boots and coats will be on and I will go out. Take care x
Can't wait to get out to potter in shops especially charity shops , love them !! Got my letter yesterday , getting released on the 31 st of July ,YES . That will be ๐ 18 aka in isolation .Cant wait x
