Good morning to you all,
You'll have to excuse me today, as my 'quotation' is actually a little verse I found in one of my poetry books last night, when reading in bed. I've had the book for years and I can't imagine how I've missed this little gem for so long. I can't resist sharing it with you as it made me laugh out loud. It's from a poet by the name of Harry Graham, who I had never heard of. On investigation I discovered he was actually quite famous for his humorous and often grotesque verses. I shall be looking for more of his work.
Mr Jones
"There's been an accident!" they said,
"Your servant's cut in half: he's dead!"
"indeed!" said Mr Jones, "and please
Send me the half that's got my keys."
- Harry Graham, 1874-1936 -
Hope you enjoyed that, and that you all have a good day today. π
