This isn't the quotation I had planned for today. It just popped up on my phone and it's actually quite a good one. It comes from Thornton Wilder and I'm embarrassed to say I had to look him up to find out that he was an American playwright and novelist with no less than 3 Pulitzer prizes to his name! Clearly there's a big gap in my education and I'll be looking into his work later today.
Anyway he said:
"My advice to you is not to inquire why or whither, but just to enjoy your ice cream while it's on your plate".
I think I agree. We tend to spend far too much time concentrating on the side issues when we should be dealing with what's on our plate right now. Doesn't mean not attending to the why and whither later, but there's merit in being Zen and fully concentrating on the current moment, e.g. 'When eating ice-cream, eat ice-cream'.
Do you agree?
Hope you all enjoy today! ๐โ๏ธ

I guess there is truth in that otherwise we waste so much time. ๐๐ธ
I totally agree with you Hidden , we should be concentrating on what's on our plate and what's happening now. It's also good to concentrate what's happening around us and to show care and compassion. I think that this forum has definitely shown that.
Sounds like good advice and sense to me. I try to think like this through mindfulness/meditation but it's not always easy to do. Next time I need reminding of this I will think of your lovely image...thanks and have a lovely day
