I'm 'sort' of used to isolation as l have frequent flares of Fibromyalgia. I am new on here so please bide with me! My wonderful partner who got me going nearly every morning had to be put to sleep as she's had cancer. So l understand what alot of people don't. I would like to help anyone. My own G.P doesn't understand why I get upset and treats me as such.

Hi Lourich68, I'm used to isolation because I also have Fibromyalgia.
It's a horrible, agonising disease that nobody can see. But Oh Boy we can feel it. I call it the DEVILS Disease because it hurts like hell.
I also have 2 Heart Valve's that aren't working properly but they can't find any Surgeon that would try to replace them for me because I wouldn't survive the operation. I also have C.O.P.D ,Asthma ,Angina and a16cm Haitus Hernia also an Umbilical Hernia.
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis Osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis. Have had a bone taken out of my foot. Bones taken out of both my hands because of the Arthritis. Have had an Appendectomy, a Hysterectomy ,uterine Prolapse Repair and several other medical conditions.
Sometimes we know more than half of what the Doctors know. I only have 1 good Doctor, and she only works 2 half days a week,so i don't get to see her very often. All the others are absolutely rubbish .Im so sorry that you've had to go through all that you've been through.
I hope that you're Fibromyalgia will ease up for you. I know that it's such a debilitating condition. I do understand.
Take Care and Stay Safe. π x.
Thanks for your kindness, Lourich, definitely what people on this thread need!
What is your Fibromyalgia like? I've heard that it can be different in different people... I'd like to understand more about it as I'm just about to start assisting two people with it at present...
cheers,
Dianne
Hi Lourich68, I think some of us who are accustomed to staying home more, have done better with isolation than those with really busy lives. I think it's a skill which you learn through practising it!
So sorry you lost your beloved pet and also that your GP hasn't been the best. I've come across a few in my time, but I would recommend that you ask for an appointment with another at your practice and try again to explain how you are feeling. GPs are just another set of people and as such vary a lot in personality. They all have a similar skill set when it comes to diagnosis and treatment, but some don't have a great chair-side manner. So if you are feeling a bit depressed, keep trying for some help. Please take care and continue to stay safe.
Oops! Just saw your name is Louise, not actually Lourich. So I'll start again. Hi Louise, welcome!
